Chris O’Dowd’s “Moone Boy” gets 1st preview
On the 3rd July, 8:45 pm, at BFI London, “Moone Boy” will get its first preview, followed by a Q&A with Chris O’Dowd himself.
While all the elements of animation are from Cartoon Saloon, the series was written by Nick Murphy and Chris O’Dowd, directed by Declan Lowney.
As for the story, “‘Moone Boy’ is set in a small town in Ireland in 1989 and follows the antics of the youngest member of the Moone family,11-year-old Martin. Martin has a unique perspective on life, aided by imaginary friend Sean Murphy, played by Chris O’Dowd. Martin’s imagination comes into play both in his childish drawings, which come alive through animation, and in the ridiculous schemes he comes up with, against Sean’s better judgement. With Sean’s help, Martin negotiates life as the youngest in a chaotic, scatterbrained family.”*
While tickets are already on sale for BFI members, sale for the general public will begin on the 19th June, 11:30am.
