Allianz Business To Arts Awards 2016
Cartoon Saloon and Butler Gallery’s recent work for the Song of the Sea exhibition has been nominated for an Allianz Business to Arts award for 2016. The shortlist demonstrates the cultural, social and economic proceeds generated when the two collaborate for their own benefit and the benefit of society at large.
For the 25th year, the award sculpture has been commissioned by DAA and this year’s award was created by Northern Ireland artist Cara Murphy. ‘Destination’ consists of 25 silver birds in recognition of 25 years of the Business to Arts awards it shows the different flight paths of the birds that suggest business and the arts combine to work together, thus showing how creative ideas can grow and take flight often spreading and creating new opportunities and ideas.
